By signing this agreement, you will become part of the Amelia Island Brazilian Jiu Jitsu family and as a member, will abide by all policies put in place by Amelia Island Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Code of Conduct:
All members of Amelia Island Brazilian Jiu Jitsu will comply to this code of conduct. Adherence to this code of conduct will help to create a safe and respectful environment for every member. If the member is a minor, it is up to the parent/guardian to ensure these policies are followed.
Punctuality
All members will show up on time, dressed and ready to begin class. This may mean showing up 5 minutes early.
Cleanliness/Health
All members will have uniforms that are clean and free of foul odors. Please help us keep everyone safe from infections by regularly washing you or your child's uniforms after every class.
All members will maintain proper bodily hygiene. This includes clipping fingers/toenails, washing hands/feet, and ensuring that you do not train with open wounds or any suspected skin infection. Do not just cover up wounds or active infections. If you work a physical job or got sweaty during the day, please take a shower before you come to class. It is also important that every member take a shower after each class, or as soon as possible.
Please brush your teeth or use mouthwash before class.
If you are sick or suspect you may be sick, do not come to the gym. If you are suspected of being sick, you may be asked to leave class.
Health and Hygiene is of the utmost importance, as we will be in close contact with each other. If you are suspected of not abiding by proper hygiene etiquette, you may be asked to leave class. If repeated hygiene problems occur, your membership may be terminated.
Respect
All members are to respect the Professor, any coaches and especially other members. This includes listening while being given instruction, showing up on time, cleaning up after yourself and respecting others for their differences. We must all help to make this a comfortable environment for all people, competitor or hobbyist alike.
Safety
All members must ensure that they are training with safety in mind. By participating in martial arts, we understand the activity we are partaking in has some inherent risk and as such, it is up to each member to make sure they are in control of their techniques while training.
*Any member that is seen or is suspected of intentionally disregarding safety will have their memberships immediately revoked with zero refund of membership fees.*
Drugs or Alcohol
It is important that safety is the top priority, therefore, any member that is suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol may be asked to sit out of class or to leave. Any repeated issue related to drugs or alcohol will result in immediate termination of membership.
Rules of the Mat
-No talking while the Professor or any coach are giving instructions
-Absolutely no shoes on the mats. Off the mats shoes are required at all times.
-Proper uniforms must be worn at all times, this includes a clean gi or other nogi attire.
-No clothing with zippers or other sharp protruding objects will be allowed on the mats. If you damage the mat, you will be responsible for the cost of repairs.
-All students are responsible for maintaining a safe and controlled training environment.

Membership
All membership fees are due monthly, on the same day of initial inception of membership. Memberships are automatically renewed unless a cancellation notice at least thirty (30) days in advance is provided.
Any membership fees that are 7 days late will be subject to a $25 penalty fee. Returned checks will result in a $30 penalty fee.
Any changes in payment form must be submitted 14 days prior to any active billing cycle.
Membership cancellation
If, for any reason, a membership needs to be cancelled, it is up to that member to provide a thirty (30) day notice, in writing, to Amelia Island Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Membership rates are listed on the Gym Desk portal and will reflect the membership option chosen.
Rate Changes
Amelia Island Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has the right to change membership rates at any time. Rate Changes will be communicated in writing at least 45 days prior to implementation. The rate change will become effective upon the member's renewal date following the 45 day notification.
Members who sign up through our early registration program are the exception and will have their membership rate locked in provided they maintain an unbroken membership. Any member that signs up through the early registration program and cancels a membership have their rates subject to change upon new registration.
